Hello, and welcome to giftlist.christmas , my Christmas 2024 gift list website!
- Xavier
This website exists to assist our Christmas 2024 gift exchange. Last year we used one big google document to keep track of everything. This year I have set up a new set of google document pages and a website to make everything easier, more organized, and better for keeping gift choices secret.
You can read about how I designed it on the About section of this website.
Everyone's email addresses have been registered and set up to edit documents.
If you have any problems or questions you can always chat in group discussion, call me, or send an email to xaviertunnage@gmail.com .

This website acts as a gateway to the google document pages that that will contain each person's Christmas lists.
I have separated each "Christmas List" into two documents. The "Wish list" and the "Checklist". Wish lists are fully open and everyone can view each others wishlist. Fill up your wishlist with every gift you desire this Christmas. Also, please add as many details as you can.
The other type of list, the Checklist, can be viewed and edited by everyone except the person for who's list it is. This way we can keep track of what gifts have already been chosen without revealing that information to that person. This will hopefully help keep the surprise in gift unwrapping.
When editing your wishlist please add extra details for each gift.
Even if you have a direct link to a website like amazon, please include extra details that might be helpful.
Here are some things to think about.
- How many of the item do you want?
- Is there a particular variety, color, or style you prefer?
- Is there a product brand or manufacturer you prefer?
- Can you leave a description of what the item is? For those who may have no idea...
I will regularly check the wishlists and use them to build the checklists. I ask every participant to do the same if they have the time. I will form the checklists into templates you can easily copy and expand upon. Please do this for each other, and for me as well. The checklists themselves have guidelines inside on how to manage the documents. The core concept is that each gift on a checklist has either a checkbox, a fraction, or a dash next to it. A checkbox means only one of that gift should be purchsed. A fraction means multiple copies of the gift can be purchased, but only up to a certain amount. A dash means the person wants as many of that gift as they can get. In a checklist document there is a table with two columns that you can expand on. The first column is where the checkbox or other symbol goes. The second column is where the details of the gift go. Each row is another gift. To add or remove a row, right click on the table to open a menu with those options.
If you have a gmail account, it helps to make the system of access restritons easy to manage and accessing restricted documents easy. If you don't have a gmail account, you won't be able to edit the checklists. It might make things easier to create a temporary gmail account, if you want the ease of access. I can still set it up for you to view the documents though. Another matter is that the Wish List and Check List sections of this website can be a little fiddly. Sometimes you may have to click on the selection dots to make the list appear. Thank you for your cooperation and patience.
If you help build up the checklists, I thank you for your help. Thank you also to everyone who participates. I hope this system will be useful to everyone.
